Visitors in town for the Bayou Classic as well as locals may have a hard time navigating the streets of New Orleans this weekend.
The Hard Rock Hotel construction collapse in October still has parts of Canal Street, Rampart and Burgundy and other roads closed in the area.
Downtown traffic has been a concern for New Orleans Police Chief Shaun Ferguson, who asks people to be patient, carpool and plan for commutes to take longer.
A spokesperson from Mayor Cantrell's office said there will obviously be more cars and pedestrians in the CBD during Bayou Classic, and there will be some traffic and parking restrictions.
Anticipating large crowds, New Orleans police officers and Louisiana State Troopers will restrict traffic to keep people safe.
Road closures around the Hard Rock Hotel collapse site will remain in place. They include Canal Street from Burgundy to Elk streets, and North Rampart Street from Bienville to Common streets.
