You won't believe what the Energy Department says we should keep our thermostats set to

What do you like your thermostat set to?

According to the Energy Department 78 degrees, in the daytime, is the ideal temperature for your temperature.  We checked with folks in New Orleans to find out if that works for them.

"Ooh, 78 is way to high," this man said.  "72 is fine."

"I don't think that's a good idea," laughed one woman.  "I have it at 70 and you still don't feel it."

"I guess it depends on what it is outside," another worker said.  "If it's around 100 degrees outside, then 78 sounds very reasonable, but if it's 80 outside then 78 sound a little unreasonable."

When you are sleeping they recommend 68 degrees at night.

"68, is way too cold," said this man.  "70 degrees balances it out."

"I think 78 degrees is too hot during the day," said this lady.  "At night I keep my thermostat at 62.  I like it cold at night."

But Entergy says every degree lower than 78 can raise your bill as much as 3%.
