LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda is not expected to leave the Tigers to become UNLV's head coach accoridng to reports from ESPN.

Sources now telling me #LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda is not expected to be the next #UNLV coach. There were some initial talks from both sides but no offer was made. #Oregon offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo remains a strong candidate for the UNLV job.

Reports surfaced Tuesday night that the LSU assistant was in talks to become the next head coach at UNLV. However, more recent reports said there were initial talks from "both sides" but that Aranda was not offered the position.

Aranda has spent the past four seasons as the Tigers' defensive coordinator and in that time boosted LSU's reputation as one of the top defenses in college football.  He is one of the highest paid assistant coaches in country earning roughly $2.5 million per season following the contract he agreed to prior to the 2018 season.
