NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Trump took a brief break Sunday morning from tweeting about his rivals to remember Sean Connery, a "tough character" who helped the former real estate developer secure a deal in Scotland.
Scottish-born Connery died Saturday at the age of 90 at his home in the Bahamas.
"The legendary actor, 007 Sean Connery, has past on to even greener fairways," Trump wrote. "He was quite a guy, and a tough character."

Connery, who had a home on the Upper East Side, crossed paths with Trump at various events in the city over the years.
"I was having a very hard time getting approvals for a big development in Scotland when Sean stepped in and shouted, 'Let him build the damn thing.' That was all I needed, everything went swimmingly from there," Trump wrote.
"He was so highly regarded & respected in Scotland and beyond that years of future turmoil was avoided," the president added. "Sean was a great actor and an even greater man. Sincere condolences to his family!"
