LSU’s defense last year was historically bad and its performance against Alabama that season was one of several low points. Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe shredded LSU’s defense last November as he threw for 219 yards, but more importantly he rushed for 155 yards and four touchdowns.

“All 11 (players on defense) have to part of this, where we broke down last year was in pass rush lanes, we’ve worked really hard on that and making sure we don’t lose anyone on the back end.”

You can get to Milroe, he’s been sacked nine times in the last three games. But defensive end Sai’von Jones says you must be smart about it.

“He’s quick to get out of the pocket, we can’t rush scared of his abilities to run the ball, we can’t let his legs hinder out ability to pass rush, it’s just making smart rush moves, knowing what kind of rushes we can do during what kind of plays.”

When Milroe is on top of his game. The Crimson Tide are tough to beat. His best two games of the season came against Wisconsin and Georgia. Against the Bulldogs he threw for 374 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

But on the road against Tennessee, Milroe threw for just 239 yards and a touchdown and two interceptions. He was also held to 11 yards rushing.

The Tigers will try to keep Milroe in check on Saturday and if LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier outperforms him, there’s a good chance the Tigers will win.
