LSU fans love LSU star linebacker Whit Weeks, and so does Lane Kiffin’s daughter!

I’m not a TMZ reporter, so I don’t know for sure if it’s love, but Weeks has confirmed that he and Landry Kiffin are in a relationship, as evidenced by a photo of the two on Instagram.

On Landry Kiffin’s Instagram, Landry is sitting on Whit’s lap with her arm around him. The two look very happy together.

Landry’s caption reads “Happy :)”

Weeks replied: “Nice, dude.”

Landry responded: “Thanks, bud.”

It’s very Whit Weeks-like for him to call his girlfriend a dude.

And it adds to the storyline of this big SEC matchup on Saturday between the 4th-ranked Tigers and the 13th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels.

A deeper dive into Landry Kiffin’s Instagram page and you’ll also find a picture of her and LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier’s fiancée, Ella Springfield.

Last year, Landry Kiffin was linked to former LSU and Ole Miss quarterback Walker Howard when Howard was with the Rebels.

Enough with the dating scene, let me get back to writing about something I’m more comfortable with, and that is football injuries.

LSU coach Brian Kelly says he expects tight end Trey’Dez Green and West Weeks will play this Saturday against Ole Miss after missing the Southeastern Louisiana game with injuries. Kelly says running back Caden Durham also has a chance to play after spraining his ankle against the Lions.

The injury news is not as good for sophomore defensive end Gabriel Reliford. The former Evangel Christian Academy star has a dislocation of the shoulder joint and may need season-ending shoulder surgery.

The big injury story for the Rebels surrounds starting quarterback Austin Simmons. Coach Lane Kiffin says Simmons will start if he’s 100-percent healthy.

Simmons has an ankle injury and did not play in last Saturday’s win against Tulane and only attempted one pass the week before in a victory over Arkansas.

Trinidad Chambliss has played well in Simmons’ absence. The transfer from Ferris State threw for 353 yards and a touchdown against Arkansas and 307 yards and two TDs against Tulane. He also rushed for two touchdowns against the Razorbacks and for 112 yards against the Green Wave.

Zero interceptions in 62 pass attempts.
