49ers, former LSU LB Kwon Alexander traded to Saints, reports say

The New Orleans Saints have traded for former 49ers linebacker Kwon Alexander, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Saints are reportedly sending a conditional fifth-round pick to the 49ers and the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that linebacker Kiko Alonso is headed to San Francisco as part of the deal.

Alexander, a former LSU Standout, was in the middle of his second season with
San Fransisco after spending the four years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 6-foot-1, 227-pound linebacker has logged 30 tackles a sack and a forced fumble in five games this season.

He's logged seven interceptions, 26 pass break ups, eight forced fumbles and 8.5 sacks through his six NFL seasons.

Prior to being selected by the Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Alexander played three seasons in Baton Rouge where he tallied 167 tackles, five pass deflections and three forced fumbles for the Tigers.

Alonso joined the Saints last year via a trade but hadn't played this season as he recovered from a knee injury he suffered in January.
