Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said he likes the current crop of defensive backs, but the search for depth isn't done.

Salary cap limitations made for some difficult decisions over the offseason, one of which was the departure of Janoris Jenkins. Loomis said the veteran corner might still be around if the team was under lesser financial constraints.

"We're just so limited in terms of what we can do. We're still looking and if something presents itself that we can boost that position or another one, we'll do everything we can to make the move," Loomis said on SportsTalk with Bobby Hebert and Kristian Garic.

Joining the show was newly announced Voice of the Saints Mike Hoss and broadcast partner Deuce McAllister.

The Saints drafted former Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft, joining a room with Marshon Lattimore, Patrick Robinson, PJ Williams and CJ Gardner-Johnson. It's unknown whether the Saints will run out the rookie to start on the outside, but he said during minicamp he was picking up the nickel position along with other responsibilities.

The Saints have hosted veteran Dre Kirkpatrick for a visit thus far, but he left without a deal in place.

"We'd love to have another corner in the building and create some depth," Loomis said. "I like the guys that we've got but I think that's one of those positions that you can never have enough."
