The injury hits keep coming for the Saints, this time in the form of Andrus Peat, who could be done for the year after an injury suffered in the first half against the Seattle Seahawks.
Peat left the game with injuries twice in the first half, the first time appearing to suffer a leg injury. The second time he came off the field appearing to have suffered an upper-body injury. He went back to the locker room and didn't return to the field.
The initial fear is that Peat suffered a torn pectoral muscle, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. He'll undergo additional testing to confirm the initial diagnosis, but such an injury would likely end the offensive lineman's 2021 season.

If Peat is indeed out for the year, it's a frustrating result for an offensive line group that had finally returned all five starters for Week 7. Left tackle Terron Armstead was making his first appearance since an injury suffered in Week 3, and center Erik McCoy was back on the field for the first time since a calf injury suffered in Week 1. Cesar Ruiz shifted back to guard, and the group finally had a bit of stability.
If Peat can't go the rest of the way, it'll likely be Calvin Throckmorton who picks up the slack. The second-year player was the primary fill-in while Ruiz played at center, and replaced Peat in Week 7.
The news also came shortly after kicker Wil Lutz announced he'd suffered a setback in rehab from core muscle surgery and would miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
