Saints initial Week 16 injury report: 5 players held out, including Chris Olave

The waiting game continues for Saints WR Chris Olave and RT Ryan Ramczyk, who both would not have participated if the Saints had practiced on Monday.

Head coach Dennis Allen left their statuses up in the air for Week 16 against the Rams, with both missing Sunday's win over the Giants.

"We’ll see what they’re able to do and we’ll kind of go from there,” indicating that a lack of practices this week shouldn't tangibly affect the status of either player.

Beyond those two players the only addition to the report this week so far is Carl Granderson who would've been limited with a shoulder injury.

The Saints, as is typical ahead of Thursday night games, did not hold a practice Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday's practices are also expected to be walkthroughs. See the full estimated injury report for the Saints below.

- DE Isaiah Foskey (quad): DNP
- S Lonnie Johnson (knee): DNP
- RB Kendre Miller (ankle): DNP
- WR Chris Olave (ankle): DNP
- RT Ryan Ramczyk (knee): DNP
- DE Cam Jordan (ankle): LP
- DE Carl Granderson (shoulder): LP
- DE Payton Turner (toe): LP

The Saints are still waiting for the return of rookies Isaiah Foskey and Kendre Miller, both of whom have missed significant time with injuries originally suffered in Week 9. As of Week 16 stars Marshon Lattimore and Michael Thomas are also eligible to have their practice windows opened to return from injured reserve, though Allen indicated that would be unlikely.

The Rams also did not hold an official practice on Monday. See their estimated injury report below.

- DB Tre Tomlinson (hamstring): DNP
- OL Joe Noteboom (foot): DNP
- OT Rob Havenstein (groin): LP
- DB Ahkello Witherspoon (groin): LP
- WR Tutu Atwell (concussion): FP

The Saints (7-7) have won their past two games and look to continue that streak when they visit the Rams (7-7) for Thursday Night Football.
