The New Orleans restructured defensive tackle David Onyemata’s contract and re-signed defensive back JT Gray, according to a report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Per the report the Saints created $4.34 million in cap space by restructuring Onyemata’s deal and gave JT Gray a deal worth $4 million with $2 million guaranteed.
Onyemata, signed a three-year $26 million contract extensions prior to the 2020 season. He went on to have his best year posting career-highs of 44 tackles, 10 TFLs, 6.5 sacks, two pass break ups and snagged his first career interception.
Gray has played mostly special teams since the Saints signed him as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2018 season. He posted eight tackles, two fumble recoveries and a pass defended in 2020.
The Saints also re-signed defensive end Noah Spence this week.
