Saints tackle Terron Armstead has tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be available Sunday afternoon when the team faces the Denver Broncos.
Armstead has played in nearly 90 percent of the Saints’ offensive snaps this season. New Orleans was already with out starting guard Andrus Peat who was ruled out with a concussion.
The Saints scheduled opponent for Sunday also is dealing with COVID-19 issues and closed their facility Friday after a player and two staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
Saints coach Sean Payton said Friday that coronavirus issues are simply a part of operating this season.
“It’s the 2020 season and after a while you really focus on the things you can control,” Payton said. “We’re trained that way, the teams are trained that way, the players certainly the coaches and that’s…obviously, this won’t be the first time and we go full speed ahead.”
