A brief, light rain early this morning left area roads and bridges just wet enough for ice to form after 5:00 am.
NOPD says they have reports of crashes due to ice near the Superdome where six vehicles collided on the slick roadway.
There are also reports of ice causing crashes on the Crescent City Connection, I-10 at Claiborne, I-610 at St. Bernard, on the LaPalco Bridge, The Huey P. Long Bridge, and elsewhere.
Forecasters say temperatures in and around New Orleans should be above freezing soon and ice should all be gone after 9:00 am.
