Gunfire erupted outside one of the most renowned restaurants in New Orleans, leaving people at Dooky Chase with bullet wounds.
"The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred... in the 2300 block of Orleans Avenue and left one person dead and three others injured," according to a news release.
Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick says the wounded were innocent bystanders all visiting New Orleans.
"Just after 8:00 p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to the location on a call of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located four subjects – three adult females and one adult male – who had sustained gunshot wounds."
Police say the adult male victim was declared dead on the scene.
"The remaining victims were transported via EMS to a local hospital where, at last update, two were listed in critical condition and one in stable condition."
Investigators say it appeared to be a targeted shooting with the killer gunning down the victim who ran into the eatery, where the other victims were struck by stray bullets.
Cops are working to find and arrest the shooter.
