Gasoline prices are still not coming down in any significant fashion. In fact, this is the most expensive autumn for drivers that AAA has ever seen.
Gas prices have eased off a little since the summer, but this is still very high for this time of year.
"Well, they're over about a $1.30 per gallon more than we were this time last year," said Don Redman of AAA Louisiana.
Redman says continuing unrest in the Middle East and Eastern Europe has kept prices higher even as demand falls.
"In terms of U.S. inventory, we're in great shape, it's just that energy is sold on a global market," Redman explained. "Particularly, you've got two wars, and potentially a third war going on with Saudi Arabia and Yemen, as well as the U.S. and Iran, and Ukraine and Russia."
And there is no sign of those conditions changing.
