The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal fire.
Firefighters were alerted shortly before 1 a.m. of a house fire in the 3000 block of D’Aquin Street.
They arrived to find the building fully engulfed in flames.
“After the fire was extinguished, an unresponsive adult male was located inside a room at the location,” said sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Brandon Veal. “He was suffering from fire-related injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.”
Veal said the initial investigation points to an accidental cause of the fire.
