Three of the four defendants charged in the October 2023 carjacking of New Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams and his mother are pleading guilty.

Ahmad Seals is set to take his chances with a criminal trial starting October 27. The other three are pleading guilty to armed robbery.

Santana Gilmore, Dijohn Curtis, and Amajha Curtis could be sentenced to as much as 99 years in prison.

While three of the suspects were 17 or younger when the crime was committed, prosecutors decided to try all of them as adults.

Williams recused his office from the prosecution, handing the case over to the Louisiana Attorney General's office.

"I’d like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to the New Orleans Police Department and Louisiana State Police for their diligent work on this case," said Attorney General Liz Murrill. "I truly believe we are seeing a turn in the tide when it comes to crime because of this partnership."
