The New Orleans Police Department is reporting five robberies that happened across the city in the past 24 hours.
All of the robberies happened on Sunday.
A bicyclist was robbed of their bicycle on the corner of Odeon Avenue and Patterson Drive.
Police say the male victim was riding his bicycle when the suspect pushed the man off his bicycle and fled on the victim’s bicycle.
In the 5200 block of North Claiborne Avenue, a man selling a cell phone was robbed by an armed man. Police say the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded the cell phone and then fled the scene.
The same day, in the 10400 block Chef Menteur Highway, a man was attacked by three men who police say then stole the victim’s personal belongings before fleeing the scene.
A man was carjacked by an armed robber in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive.
According to the police report the suspect approached the victim who was walking and implied that he was armed. The suspect demanded the victim’s keys and money, he complied and the suspect fled in the victim’s car.
Then, a man walking in the 800 block of Canal Street was attacked and robbed by three men who took the victim’s money and ran off.
