Interstate 610 Westbound, toward Metairie, has reopened comoletely after the expressway was closed due to a dump truck fire during the morning commute.
The stricken vehicle was located near the St. Bernard Exit.
Heavy smoke was reported in the area and it also affected traffic in the eastbound direction.
With the fire is out, DOTD crews were able to get the right lane open and let traffic by. The roadway was finally cleaned and cleared by 12:45pm.
