Wayne Higgins, the man accused of fatally shooting Metairie two truck operator and LSU superfan Lee "Big Lee" Martin has died, the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports.
Higgins died late last month. He was 82 year old.
Higgins had yet to go on trial on second-degree murder charges for the 2018 shooting. He had reportedly been feuding with Martin, his neighbor on Bonnabel Blvd., for years. That bad blood finally boiled over on May 5, 2018. Martin reportedly sprayed water from a hose into Higgins' truck after the two exchange words. Police say Higgins stepped out of the truck and fired one shot into Martin's chest.
