One person is dead, five more injured, and five people are in custody after gunshots rang out at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.
Baton Rouge Police Chief Thomas Morse said two groups of people got into a fight at the food court before the shooting began.
Earlier reports had ten people injured.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry said he was being kept aware of the situation.
"I am aware of the active shooter scene at the Mall of Louisiana," Landry posted. "I am in coordination with law enforcement and we will update as we know more. Please avoid the area."
The governor says he and his wife are praying for those affected.
