Gunfire Sunday night claimed a life in New Orleans.
"New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide," Sgt. Barry Fletcher. "According to investigators, police were called to the 2100 block of Louisiana Avenue shortly before 8:25 p.m."
He says officers found the victim unresponsive.
"New Orleans EMS confirmed the victim was deceased, and apparently from a gunshot wound."
It comes after a string of weekend shootings that included six people shot on or near Canal Street Saturday night and early Sunday and the shooting death of a three-year-old child Saturday night.
