An arrest warrant is issued for an Arabi woman accused of practicing orthodontics without a license and then puts braces on a teen without the parents’ permission says St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann.
Aireon Davis, 28, is wanted for practicing dentistry without a license.
Sheriff Pohlmann says on June 22, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau received a complaint from the parent of a 15-year-old female who said Davis put braces on their child’s teeth without their consent and charged them money.
During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered Davis was advertising the illegal orthodontic business on Instagram under the account “Bracee Yourself" and running it out of her apartment.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Davis’ apartment where they retrieved various dentistry tools and supplies from the apartment.
According to Louisiana law, no one is allowed to practice dentistry without a license by the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry.
According to the board, Davis does not have a license to practice dentistry in Louisiana the according to the sheriff.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Davis, or who has been a victim of Davis unlawfully practicing dentistry on them is asked to contact the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501 or the Criminal Investigations Bureau at (504) 278-7630 or (504) 271-TIPS or 8477.
