Music gets top bill at Jazz Fest, but the food is an important supporting player.
So, what exactly are people eating at the Fairgrounds this year?
The muffuletta and the soft-shell crab poboy are the two most popular items based on our survey of people at the festival. However, other food items won over this year's attendees.
"I like the barbecue chicken sandwich," one woman told us.
"Roasted duck and duck sliders with shrimp," one man answered through a stuffed mouth.
"We are having some jambalaya and some shrimp toast," another person said.
What makes the food at Jazz Fest such a draw? One woman had an explanation.
"I think it's authentic," she said. "I think it has the right amount of spice. It's jazzy!"
