One person is dead and a suspect is on the run after a shooting in St. Bernard Parish.
Sheriff's deputies say it happened around 7 p.m. Thursday on Colonial Boulevard a few blocks off East Judge Perez Drive in Violet.
According to investigators, Leilan Nelson shot and killed an acquaintance in what they say is an isolated incident. Deputies found the acquaintance, a man who's name they did not disclose, dead at the scene.
Nelson is wanted on one count of second-degree murder.
