Several demonstrators have been arrested as some attempted to set up tents in front of Tulane University's Gibson Hall on St. Charles Ave.
A crowd of dozens of demonstrators gathered, and several Tulane and New Orleans Police officers met them to prevent them from moving further on to the campus.
The protesters, similar to others at demonstrations happening at colleges around the country, are demanding the university divest from businesses that operate in Israel or do business with the Israeli government.
Monday's demonstration comes after New Orleans Police arrested demonstrators who were trying to set up tents in Jackson Square.
