The Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium will reopen June 8, the Audubon Nature Institute announced today.
The aquarium has been closed since November for major renovations, and the Audubon Insectarium is moving out of the U.S. Customs building at the foot of Canal St. to the aquarium campus.
"Through our reimagining, visitors will experience many of their favorite Aquarium exhibits in an entirely new way," said Rich Toth, Senior VP and Director of Audubon's downtown facilities.
The reopening of the aquarium coincides with the United Nation's World Oceans Day.
"It is especially exciting to open the doors for our newly renovated Aquarium on World Ocean Day, the day set aside to celebrate the world’s oceans and what we can do to protect them," said Toth.
Tickets for the newly-renovated Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium go on sale today, April 17. Click here for details.
