UPDATE: More St. Tammany neighborhoods told to boil water

UPDATE 12:20 p.m.: St. Tammany Utilities customers in the Alton community are being told to boil water until further notice. The parish says a loss of power led to a loss of sufficient water pressure in the Alton Water System (see below):

The loss of power caused by Hurricane Zeta resulted in low water pressure in the Briarwood Terrace Water System in St. Tammany Parish.

"Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with the Louisiana Department of Health regulations, a precautionary boil advisory is in place for all Tammany Utilities customers in on the Briarwood Terrace Water System," the parish announced this morning.

The boil advisory includes the following subdivisions, and as shown in the image below:

Boil water for one full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. The parish says the flat taste caused by boiling can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.
