A new app to help travelers store and manage their certifications for Covid-19 tests and vaccines is set to launch next month – a travel pass that the International Air Transport Association hopes will be the key to reopening borders and getting the world flying again without the need for quarantine. The app includes a global registry of health requirements so passengers can check what’s needed in order to enter their destination. It also stores info on travelers’ tests and vaccination certificates.
The CDC says nearly four months after it lifted its "no-sail" order in the U.S., no cruise operator has applied for a conditional sailing certificate. The certificate is a cruise company's ticket to start generating revenue again after a yearlong hiatus. Major operators Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian expect to lift their U.S. sailing suspension May 1.
