Business: World oil market volatile

The International Energy Agency today warned that world oil markets are likely to remain volatile following a breakdown in talks between OPEC members and their non-OPEC allies, creating a no-win situation.

In its monthly oil market report, the IEA says energy market participants are closely monitoring the prospect of a deepening supply deficit if a deal is not reached. The IEA says “volatility does not help ensure orderly and secure energy transitions — nor is it in the interest of either producers or consumers.”


Residents of New Orleans are very stressed. According to the personal finance website WalletHub, New Orleans is the third most stressed-out city in the country, behind only Cleveland and Detroit. WalletHub measured 41 metrics including work, financial, family, health, and safety stress. Least stressed were South Burlington, Vermont; Fremont, California, and Madison, Wisconsin.
