A suspect in a deadly 2022 shooting in the Bywater is now in custody.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, NOPD officers and federal marshals arrested Brian Lewis at his home on Thursday. Investigators say Lewis shot a man and a woman on Dauphine Street near Bartholomew Street on April 30, 2022. The woman, Kelly Bennett, 34, later died at a hospital.
Police booked Lewis into the Orleans Parish Jail on a second-degree murder charge.
