A woman and a child were carjacked in a New Orleans neighborhood on Friday, which was caught on a neighbor’s doorbell camera.
The carjacking happened at about 10:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of Marigny Street in the Lake Terrace Oaks neighborhood near UNO.
Video obtained by WWLTV shows the crime as it unfolds.
In the video, a white car is seen pulling behind and blocking the victim’s 2019 Honda Accord in the driveway as the victim and a child were getting in the car to pull out of the driveway.
According to police, an armed man got out of the suspect car approached the victim’s window, and ordered her and child out of the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect drove off in the victim’s car along with the suspect vehicle.
The video then shows the woman and child walking to their neighbor's house and knocking on the door for help as the carjacker is seen pulling out of the woman's driveway and then speeds off.
