A man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in New Orleans East will be in court Monday after a jury upgraded the charge against him.
Henry Talley, Jr., is accused of shooting Asia Davis and then running over her body with an SUV in May. He was initially booked on a second-degree murder charge, but our partners at NOLA.com report that a grand jury increased that charge to first-degree murder.
According to 911 records, Davis twice called dispatchers for help--once on April 6 and again on April 18. Our partners at WWL-TV report that dispatchers downgraded those calls. The records also showed that both times, the NOPD responded 12 hours after the initial call. Both times, the responding officers marked the incident as "gone on arrival."
Talley is set to be arraigned during his Monday hearing.
