How best to fight crime, and make sure the worst criminals are kept off the streets will be some of the things talked about when New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson meets today with New Orleans' new District Attorney, Jason Williams.
Chief Ferguson says there is much to discuss.
"What are your policies, what are your procedures, what will he be changing, you know, compared to what we had been dealing with in the previous administration so we know how to adjust, if we can adjust," said Ferguson. "I'm sure there are going to be some things such as this in which we're going to have to have a deeper conversation and us explaining to him the unintended consequences or impact that they may have on us."
Williams took office on a promise to be more selective in what crimes should get the most attention from prosecutors. Chief Ferguson said he's looking forward to discussing crime fighting strategies.
