Online travel booking company Expedia has launched an in-app feature powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT for users to start conversations and receive hotel, flight and destination recommendations. Expedia and Booking Holdings’ Kayak are among the first travel companies to integrate generative AI with travel search as the industry seeks ways to make travel planning easier.
Members of Congress are raising questions about the security of cranes at U.S. ports and are seeking to hold hearings and get government documents on potential security vulnerability posed by dozens of Chinese-made container cranes. The demand for more information follows a Wall Street Journal story last month that detailed concerns over cranes made by state-owned ZPMC. Lawmakers say it’s “extremely worrisome” that about 80% of U.S. port container cranes use software from a company with ties to China’s People’s Liberation Army.
Futures are Mixed after stocks closed lower. The Dow Industrials fell 198, the NASDAQ lost 63 and the S&P 500 was down 23.
