New Orleans Police say a man is under arrest after stiffing a cabbie, then stealing the cab.
"The victim picked up the subject up from a local bar and brought him home," according to an initial police report.
Investigators say the suspect got out of the cab and went inside his home in the 2800 Block of Carondelet Street without paying just after midnight.
The cab driver stayed there, hoping the man would return and pay him. Instead, the suspect allegedly returned with a baseball bat.
"The victim sat outside of the home and then was chased on foot by the subject armed with a bat. The subject returned to the location and fled inside the taxi."
Police caught the carjacker a short time later.
" The subject was eventually apprehended without further incident."
