(AP) — A state grand jury Wednesday handed up an indictment against Crowley Police Chief Allen James “Jimmy” Broussard.
He’s charged with felony charges of malfeasance in office, obstruction of justice and injuring public records.
Broussard’s attorney, Bill Goode, told KATC-TV he’s confident his client will be cleared.
Broussard was arrested after the indictment was released but Goode says he has since bonded out of jail.
According to the indictment, Broussard committed the felonies in Acadia Parish from Jan. 1, 2020 to Oct. 31.
Broussard's arraignment is set for May.
