Do you recognize this person? His body was found in 1984

Northshore authorities are asking for help solving a mystery.

"The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office requests assistance in the identification of a man whose remains were recovered over 40 years ago," Coroner's spokesman Greg Beuerman said in a news release.

The email refers to the man as a "victim," but does not indicate how the medical examiner believes he died.

"On October 11, 1984, hunters discovered a partial human skeleton along the banks of the West Pearl River near Interstate 59.  The remains were determined to be a male, estimated to be 18-40 years of age at the time of death."

The LSU Faces Laboratory was able to create the above computer assisted image of what the man may have looked like.

"Anthropologists found characteristics of both Caucasian and African American ancestry indicating that he may have been of mixed race."

Beuerman says that the image shows several prominent and unique facial features that investigators hope may lead to his recognition.

"Please note that the flesh tone and hair patterns are estimations, thus the viewer should take into account the likelihood of different complexion and hair patterns."
