The city of New Orleans today heard from developers interested in turning the abandoned Six Flags amusement park site into something new, and among the leading contenders are a partnership between a Colorado development company and a foundation started by retired Saints quarterback Drew Brees and linebacker Demario Davis.

Their idea would use the property for, among other things, teaching young people about agriculture.

Another proposal would turn the defunct theme park into an RV park, retail shopping center, and waterpark.

A third development proposal involves using the site as a logistics hub as well as amusement park and travel center.

The nearly 230 acre site has sat dormant for more than 15 years after Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans East.
