While Mardi Gras looks very different this year, Governor John Bel Edwards says he is ‘inspired’ by the creativity of Mardi Gras revelers in New Orleans and their Krewe of House Floats.

“This year things have been a little different because we can’t get together or have parades, but the people of Louisiana are crafty and creative, and just because parades are canceled doesn’t mean Mardi Gras is canceled,” said Governor Edwards in a video message posted to social media. “I have to tell you, I am so inspired by the creativity and hard work that went into the Krewe of House Floats.”

“From massive displays put together by New Orleans Mardi Gras artists, to homemade decorations, and hand-painted signs, you’ve turned your homes into symbols of celebration,” said Edwards.

He concludes his message by saying thank you to all those involved in creating a safe Mardi Gras celebration.
