A 49-year-old man has died following a crash that occurred Friday evening near Folsom.
Deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Traffic Division are investigating after a Hammond-area man died from his injuries after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a trailer being pulled behind a truck on Willie Road shortly before 7 p.m.
The truck pulling the trailer was westbound on Willie Road, when it slowed down to pull into a private driveway on the north side of Willie Road near the intersection of Booth Road. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle collided with the rear of the trailer.
Emergency medical personnel transported the driver of the motorcycle to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Intoxication is not suspected, but toxicology is pending, and the crash is still under investigation.
