FBI agents raided the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board on Friday.
WWL TV reported a spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported the agency "conducted law enforcement activity" at 625 Saint Joseph Street. That's the S&WB's main office.
Lori Grice told the TV station, ""There was no threat to public safety. As this is an ongoing matter, we are not in the position to comment further at this time."
It came a day after Channel 4 Investigative Reporter David Hammer began a series of reports on S&WB employees allegedly conducting private plumbing business while on the clock at the Sewerage and Water Board.
Hammer also reported that employees were allegedly signing permit applications for work to be done, but other people were reportedly doing the work.
