Flames erupted from a home in New Orleans' Holy Cross neighborhood Monday night.

"At 7:26 pm, NOFD fire crews responded to a 911 call for 5620 St. Claude Avenue," Firefighter Michael Williams wrote in a news release. "The first fire companies arrived on the scene at 7:34 pm to find a two story, wood frame unoccupied family dwelling heavily involved in fire."

The flames jumped to a neighboring house.

"The fire began to spread to the occupied home next door on the right, 5618-16 St. Claude causing smoke, fire, and water damage to the siding, windows, and the ceiling."

Williams says everyone got out safely before firefighters arrived on the scene.

"The center and rear of 5620 St. Claude collapsed inward."

The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents.

"No injuries were reported, and the fire is under investigation. This incident had 16 units carrying 44 firefighters to respond."
