It’s more than three years in federal prison for Rodney “Sugar Man” Robinson, a former coroners van driver who was convicted of conspiring with Colombian drug lords to sell heroin in New Orleans.

Robinson was apparently going to sell the drugs on the street from his Coroner’s Office van.

In pleading guilty, Robinson escaped a pending charge of distributing heroin.

Robinson and others conspired to distribute more than a kilogram of heroin to customers in the New Orleans area.

Robinson was among several others caught on wiretap making arrangements to move the heroin on the streets.

He was taken down in 2008 when he rolled to a call of a dead body in Algiers, there he was arrested by FBI agents.

Robinson ultimately cooperated with authorities and was able to testify to details about how he and others conspired to sell the narcotic.

Robinson has been in custody since 2008 and his sentence will be adjusted with time already served.
