A federal judge has sentenced former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain to 10 years and a $10,000 fine in a federal corruption case this morning.
Back in December, Strain plead guilty to one count of bribery in a kickback scheme involving a privatized inmate work release program run by the children of two of Strain’s top deputies awarded to them in a no-bid contract.
The adult children, David Hanson and Clifford Keen pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges stemming from them funneling money from the program back to Strain.
Strain is already serving four life sentences for a separate case involving multiple counts of aggravated rape and incest spanning decades of sex abuse with young boys.
