French Quarter Fest organizers reveal their lineup and announce they are dropping Sunday for the New Orleans Saints who play that same day.

Organizers say they are dropping Sunday from the event at the request of city officials who were concerned the NOPD manpower shortage would make policing the festival and a Saints home game, difficult.

“At the City's request, FQFI organizers have consolidated festival activities into an action-packed three-days in order allow the city to focus its security and safety resources on the New Orleans Saints home game on Sunday, October 3,” said FQF organizers.

The Saints play the New York Giants in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at noon on Sunday, Oct. 3.

The 2021 French Quarter Festival now runs Thursday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 2.
