New Orleans leaders are asking for public input on how to spend the city's money, even as the city faces reduced spending in the coming year.
New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno says in a matter of weeks, they will begin neighborhood budget hearings.
"CAO Giarrusso has been talking to all the city department, trying to get their priorities, but we also want to get your priorities," Moreno said. "We want to hear from you. So right after Labor Day, expect us in your area. We're going to be all across the city having budget meetings."
Those priorities will have to compete for limited dollars.
The Moreno administration has already warned that spending will be cut next year -- in order to avoid a $125 million budget deficit.
