The Hilton Riverside Hotel knows Mardi Gras celebrations, parades, and gathering will be mostly moot this year.
But that doesn’t mean the waterfront hotel doesn’t have a smaller, more intimate, but just as festive substitution planned.
The hotel is hosting what it calls the Krewe of Shoe-box contest.
The event is a float creating contest made from shoe boxes.
The boxes can be elaborately decorated and crafted to resemble whatever whimsical float a mind can create!
Participating floats will be judged by Hilton’s own staff of judges based on creativity and execution.
Even on line floats can participate.
Locals can drop off float creations at the hotel at 2 Poydras Street from now until Sunday February 7th.
All floats entered will be displayed starting Monday February 8th through the 16th.
The contest is free to enter for U.S. Residents. Hilton encourage entries from people all of all ages, but you must be 18+ to be eligible for prizes.
Hilton asks for a donation to the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation to help support the hospitality community which has been devastated by the fallout from Covid-19.
The Hilton Riverside will match each donation made to the foundation during the contest period.
