Finally, they are back!
After a 10-year hiatus following a fire that destroyed the New Orleans factory that produced them, Hubig’s Pies are once again for sale in New Orleans. The beloved pies made their return on Sunday at a pop-up sale tent along Carrollton Avenue.
According to WWL-TV, the first batch of pies—all 7,500 of them—sold out quickly. A second batch of 2,500 pies sold out just as quickly.
Otto Ramsey, president emeritus of Hubig’s, told WWL-TV that only apple and lemon pies will be available for now. However, he says more flavors will soon follow. According to Ramsey, Hubig’s Pies will make their return to New Orleans-area grocery and convenience stores on Monday.
