The National Hurricane Center is warning Florida to get ready for a major hurricane, and there isn't a lot of time to prepare.
The system is currently in the Caribbean and has not developed into even a depression yet, but is forecast to be a category three hurricane by Thursday afternoon approaching landfall.
"The system is forecast to become a hurricane on Wednesday and continue strengthening on Thursday as it moves across the eastern Gulf of Mexico," The NHC advises. "Formation chance through 48 hours...high...near 100 percent."
Federal forecasters say Florida should expect considerable flash and urban flooding, dangerous storm surge and hurricane conditions with winds over 115mph.
Impacts will continue into Georgia Friday.
